Insurance
Insurance accepted
- I will accept Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance starting in July. If you have questions about coverage for your specific plan, please reach out to your insurance company before our first appointment.
Out-of-network/self-pay
If I’m not in-network with your plan, you can still work with me as a self-pay client. I can provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement. Many clients receive significant reimbursement this way. Call your insurance company to ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits before your first session.
Common Questions
What is a superbill?
A superbill is an itemized receipt which I can provide to help with insurance reimbursement. You submit it to your insurance company to request reimbursement for out-of-network services. The amount you receive back depends on your specific plan’s out-of-network benefits.
How do I find out my out-of-network benefits?
Call the member services number on the back of your insurance card and ask about your "out-of-network mental health benefits." Key questions to ask: What is my deductible? What percentage is reimbursed after the deductible?
Good Faith Estimate — Notice to Clients
Under the No Surprises Act (effective January 1, 2022), you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit cms.gov/nosurprises.
